Christopher Boone is a 15 year old kid with autism, he is the main character of the book “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime”. He really likes Sherlock Holmes book and when his neighbor’s dog is killed with a pitchfork he is compelled to write this book. One of the things he hates is being touched. I mean, a lot of people don’t like to be touched either, but he doesn’t like to be touched at all by anyone, with a few exceptions. One of the very few things he will except if when he and one of his parents will fan out their and and interlock their fingers kind of saying I love you or a way of calming him down. Most of the time his reaction is to hit the person touching him, this gets him into trouble a few times, and he also carries around a swiss army knife incase a stranger tries to touch him. Since he reacts so severely to this he does get in trouble once or twice. In the beginning when he first finds out about Wellington Mrs.Shears comes out to find him holding Wellington and calls the police. When they arrive a police officer pulls him away from the dog to talk to him and Christoper punches him, he is then arrested then taken down to the police station.” The police man took hold of my arm and lifted me onto my feet. I didn’t like him touching me like this. And this is when I hit him” (Haddon 8).
